There
is much to entertain at the Manor Pavilion, a delightful airconditioned community
theatre. One of Britain’s best-known repertory companies presents a Summer Play
Festival every year, with two highly professional productions each week.
There
are also concerts, a Christmas pantomime and productions of musicals and drama
by Sidmouth Societies. Sunday evening concerts by the Town Band in Connaught Gardens
are very popular, while the annual exhibition of paintings in July illustrates
that Sidmouth and East Devon are such a treasure trove of subjects for artists.
August sees the Folk Week and Regatta, September is Carnival time and
on December 26th crowds are out on the seafront for the Boxing Day swim. |
